Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.

He tests and evaluates cleaning equipment. His focus is on mopping and robot vacuum combinations. Multitaskers can be an excellent choice for those looking to get rid of mopping off their to-do lists. They are equipped with impressive mapping capabilities and obstacle avoidance, and some even wash and refill their mopping pads to give themselves a hands-off clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

If you're looking for a robotic vacuum that also mop, this is the model to go for. It's smaller than other options, making it easier to maneuver in tight corners or under furniture. It comes with a 220 degree Lidar which, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, gives it one of my top navigation and avoidance capabilities I've seen in a robotic vacuum. It comes with a massive 4600mAh battery which lasts up to 170-minutes when mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can last longer in turbo). It can even return to its dock to replenish its battery in mid-clean.

It's quick and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It cleans the carpeted rooms extremely quickly and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways in a single sweep. Its 8,000pa motor is able to remove dirt, pet hair, and even droppings easily. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects rugs and the dual side brush assists in removing debris from corners.

The mopping performance, while still impressive, is not as effective. The rotating mop spins at a high speed and pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly scraping away dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arms extend out slightly more than other robots, which is useful for getting into tight corners and on baseboards. The same front arms can be used to sweep larger objects, such as broken toys and fallen books.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mops and vacuums I've used. It doesn't create as loud of a sound while vacuuming or mopping and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only issue is that the S1 Pro must use a exclusive cleaning solution for mopping, and is sold separately from the vacuum. It's easy to install and works well, but this is something you'll need to keep an eye on when you purchase this vacuum for the sole purpose of mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It comes with a wide array of features that make it an ideal choice for homeowners looking to purchase an extremely efficient, flexible, and customizable cleaning machine.

The device is equipped with an efficient cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This allows it to map out the house and detect furniture and other obstacles. It can then use this information to clean methodically and efficiently. This results in an efficient, consistent clean that's also fairly fast.

In terms of mopping, Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads are capable of reaching an array of surface areas. These include corners or baseboards, as well as other hard-to-reach areas. The side brush can be stretched out to extend to the floor, close to walls and other fixtures. Additionally, the mop pads can be dried and washed to prevent build-up and reduce the smell.

App-based customization is another notable feature. The Q Revo lets you alter the suction intensity and choose an back-and-forth or random pattern. You can also choose the number of passes which will determine the speed at which it can move around your home. You can also turn off the side brush in order to prevent damage to carpets and rugs.

This device has a fairly expensive price, but is packed with a wide array of smart features. It is important to note, however, that the device is subject to regular expenses, such as mopping supplies as well as regular maintenance. For example, a brushroll needs to be replaced every six to twelve months or after 300 hours. The filter must be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad needs to be replaced every one to three months.

This robot vacuum mop is a top Amazon rating and comes with many physical automation features. This includes a power button that can also function as a general 'Clean' button and a 'Home button that will take it back to its base station once it has completed its cleaning task. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically empty the dustbin, refills its water tank for mopping and washes and dry its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

If you're a busy professional or someone who wants to have a clean home without spending hours doing chores then the Shark Matrix Plus is a solid option. Its powerful performance, smart navigation, and long battery life make it easy to maintain a clean house with minimal effort.

The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop that is, it can do both vacuuming and mopping. It has two modules: a combined dry bin and water reservoir and a separate mopping system with a microfiber pad that snaps into and out of position. Separate modules for vacuuming and mopping may appear a bit dated, but they do mean you don't have to worry about changing bags for disposables or refilling the water tank.

Our test participants found that the Matrix Plus did a great job at both vacuuming and mopping. Its greatest feature was its precise floorplan, which it uses to create the path to follow when cleaning. It was easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture rug, furniture and other obstacles. The app also gives you the option of setting "No-Go zones" and virtual barriers, which can help to keep specific areas of your home from being swept with a mop.

The Matrix Plus also did a amazing job of collecting hair from pets. It was able capture some of the hair that shed by our cats, and even got into the nooks and crannies on our stairs where other robots struggled. The noise levels of the robot were low, and there were some nice jingles to signal that it was in the process of getting its work done.

The app was too basic and you had to alter the modules each time you changed between vacuuming and mopping. The app can't hold multiple maps, which can be a pain when you live in a house that has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those looking for an intelligent robot that can perform both vacuuming and mopping.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that can be found in our test, but it comes with some distinct features that make it worth a look. The X1 Omni's most appealing feature is its enormous dock which doubles as the robot's charging base and the housing for two 4-liter water tanks, a cleaning sink as well as a 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically emptys.

The base has several control buttons that let you manually start a cleaning task, recall the robot or use the dock's auto-emptying procedure. Press two buttons to turn off the child lock. This is a wonderful feature for parents who are worried about their children playing with the vacuum.

Similar to other robotic vacuums, the Omni Omni uses its camera to spot furniture and obstacles in its path and eliminate them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni could occasionally get caught up in an obstacle--such as an electrical cord dangling across a rug, that it gets stuck and ceases to function until you remove it manually. This was a rare occurrence however it was frustrating since the X1 does not have a "stuck status" alert in its app.

The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch from mopping to vacuuming mode during the cleaning process. You'll need to manually swap between the two, which isn't too bad aside from the fact that mopping pads aren't washed and dried between uses, which can lead to mildew or mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed its sleek modern, contemporary base and mopping pad. It's a significant contrast to the utilitarian, black bases of competitors like Roborock and iRobot, and a welcome view in a market that is dominated by clunky boxy models.
